At Stenson Fields, writing is taught by first learning to orally rehearse a text. This is beneficial for the children because it gives them the opportunity to imitate the language they need for a particular genre before writing their own version.
In class, the children learn to remember the texts by looking at the pictures and symbols and by applying actions. The better your child knows the model text, the easier they find it to apply the features to their own writing.
For each unit of writing we will include the text map for your child to practise and the written version for you so that you may be able to support your child.
