PSHE/RSE
PSHE and RSE is taught as a discreet subject but is also integrated through other subjects across the curriculum. We place great importance on helping children to learn the knowledge, understanding and skills required to live healthy, safe, responsible and rewarding lives. We recognise that in order for children to achieve their full academic potential they must also develop socially, emotionally and morally.

'PSHE MATTERS' SCHEME
We currently use the Derbyshire PSHE scheme 'PSHE Matters' to plan and teach PSHE lessons. The RSE curriculum is taught within the topics of 'PSHE Matters' and has be planned in collaboration with teachers and parents. Certain aspects of PSHE overlap with other subjects such as science and computing. Please refer to the long term plan to see what your child is learning and when. The parent information sheets can be found below and also on the class pages which will give you more detail and suggestions for conversations to have with your child.
Relationships, Health and Sex Education Statutory Guidance 2026
The government has updated the statutory guidance for relationships, health and sex education. This will be implemented in the academic year 2026/27 and our scheme of work adapted as necessary. To read the document please click below:
