Follow our Learning 2022-2023

We had a dental nurse in for a PSHE lesson about looking after our teeth.

We enjoyed our castle day. We role-played what people would have been doing if they lived in the castle keep or if they lived in the bailey in the olden days..

Science Week: We had lots of fun learning about sea life and plants. We thought about what would happen if there were no fish left!

Humpty Dumpty Investigation: We had lots of fun finding a new crash mat for Humpty Dumpty!

For recycling day we used the pears that don't get eaten to make pear cakes.

We celebrated Number Day in year 1. We came to school dressed as a number and we did lots of number activities and games. We had lots of fun!

World Book Day March 2nd 2023

The children had lots of fun today with a surprise book given to us by Mrs Faulkner! We made predictions, went on an acorn hunt, sequenced the story and talked about the story.

In RE we have started thinking about celebrations. The children contributed their ideas and drew illustrations to go on the mind map. Well done Year 1!

For mental Health week we talked about how it is good to connect with people and have the support of our friends. These are some 'connecting' activities we did as a class together.

Chloe came in to show us some of her gymnastics moves and she led a PE warm up.

All year 1 children took turns to help make a Christmas Wreath. We found out about evergreens compared to trees which lose their leaves in winter.

In Maths, we have been thinking about number bonds within 10. We used Numicon to help us find number bonds to 6. We also wrote the addition calculations to show our number bonds! Mrs Pashley was soooooooo impressed!

In Maths we went outside to practice writing our numbers.

In Science, we have been learning  about animals. Jungle Jo came to see us to teach us more about different groups of animals. She brought some of her friends to see us too!
