Autumn 2 - Where Does Light Come From?
During this half term we have learnt about a variety of different things, with light and colour at the forefront. We have had the opportunity to learn about some different celebrations and festivals such as Bonfire Night and Christmas.
The children have really enjoyed talking about space and things they notice in the sky that are bright such as the sun, stars and moon.
We have used torches and other toys to create light, look closely at things in the dark and make shadows.
We have also talked about colour and enjoyed activities such as colour mixing with light and paint and creating colourful pictures using different media.
This half term has also been a time of change as we look at our outside environment. The children have noticed that the leaves are missing from the trees, it is much colder and they now wear different clothes because it is winter.
Remembrance Day
The children learnt all about remembrance day and that it is a quiet day for respect. We talked about poppies being important and how they help people to remember people and things that have happened in the past. We represented poppies in different ways.
