Follow our Learning 2024-2025

In PSHE we are learning about managing emotions, our doll Jemima had a birthday and we talked about feelings when there's a birthday party.

We went out for a walk in the local area as part of our Geography map skills work.

We started a new English unit on 'George and the Dragon'. We used costumes and props to recreate the story.

In Science we were learning about using our 5 senses. We had some special Christmas items to touch, taste, smell, hear and see.

In English we are learning about Penguins. We looked at how the Daddy penguin balances the egg on his feet in the ice. We touched and smelled some prawns as penguins eat sea creatures like these!prawns

In maths we made pictures using shapes.

Jungle Jo visited with some animals for us to hold!

We wore odd socks for anti bullying week!

On 11th November, children could wear their uniform if they are part of certain clubs that learn to serve our country.

We read the 'Somethingosaur' in English. We played a game where we had to find 'Mummy' in the woods.

We did some cooking for Diwali, making Barfi sweets

We celebrated World mental Health Day in October, we looked at ways to be calm.

We found Autumn leaves and conkers, we studied poems about Autumn in English

In our RE Belonging topic we looked at how Jewish people celebrate Shabbat

Children enjoyed their first two days. they have painted portraits to help us get to know them.

In maths we sorted buttons according to size, shape or colour.

In English we have started the story 'We're going on a Bear Hunt', by Michael Rosen. We made a moving picture to help re-tell the story.

In maths we played games with a partner to help with our counting skills.

In RE we started a topic on ' Belonging'. We looked at different school logos that show which school we belong to. We looked at different items that show if we belong to different groups

To start our 'Explorers' Topic we went out into the courtyard with maps to find special painted stones!

For our class treat we made a bear shape using bread, jam, butter and raisins.

In maths we have been learning to use the symbols for more >, less < and equal =. We used straws to make these symbols.

In PSHE we made friendship hands and talked about how to be good friends in our class together.

In computing, our topic is 'Moving a robot'. We used the 'Beebots' and gave them directions to move.

In Geography we have started to learn the positions of the continents.
